We love making custom 3D printed pieces for you ā from wedding favours to toys, decorations, and collectables. And while they look awesome fresh off the printer, a little TLC goes a long way in keeping them looking their best. Hereās our quick guide to caring for your 3D printed items! š
š§¼ 1ļøā£ Keep Them Clean
For everyday dust and dirt, gently wipe your 3D printed item with a soft, dry cloth. If it needs a deeper clean, a slightly damp cloth with a touch of mild soap works great ā just avoid soaking or scrubbing too hard, especially with hand-painted pieces.
Top Tip:Ā Avoid harsh chemicals or alcohol-based cleaners, as they can damage certain materials like PLA and paint finishes.
š”ļø 2ļøā£ Mind the Heat
Most 3D printed items, especially those made from PLA, donāt like high heat. Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight, near radiators, or inside hot cars.If exposed to heat, prints can soften, warp, or lose their shape.
Good to know:Ā If you need something heat-resistant, ask us about PETGĀ or ASAĀ options when placing your order!
šØ 3ļøā£ Protect Painted Pieces
Hand-painted prints are sealed for durability, but theyāll still last longer with a little care.Keep them away from water and excessive handling, and avoid knocking them against hard surfaces.
If your painted item gets dusty, a soft makeup brush or dry cloth works wonders!
š¦ 4ļøā£ Store with Care
If youāre packing your prints away (like seasonal dĆ©cor or party favours), wrap them in soft tissue or bubble wrap and store them in a cool, dry place.Avoid stacking heavy items on top of delicate prints, especially flexi toys or painted pieces.
š§ 5ļøā£ Minor Repairs
Small chips or breaks can sometimes happen ā thatās life with handmade items! For simple fixes, a dab of super glue (or nail glueš
) can work well for reattaching parts. If youāre unsure or itās one of our pieces, feel free to message us and weāll help advise.
